Located in the old historic quarter of the small town of Avallon a few kilometers from our B and B, a visit to the costume museum will allow you to travel in the middle of French fashion from past centuries.

In a 17th century mansion, you will discover, in this private museum, incredible exhibitions. The visit is guided either by the mother, an incredible lady and centenarian, or by her daughters. All three have built up an immense collection, memories of the past with its clothing customs.

Amid furniture, paintings and period objects that each have a story. You will admire the fashion exhibition presented on a hundred old mannequins. Clothing, headdresses, jewelry, accessories for women and men are exposed. Currently, the theme of the exhibition is: the art of attaching clothes and fashion accessories from the 18th century to the present day.

The owners of the museum frequently change the theme of the exhibition and the layout of the rooms in the mansion. The visit will end with a tour to the private chapel. From the top of the gallery, you can admire the rich decor of this place.

The few Euros of the visit allow the maintenance of the place and the enrichment of the collections, knowing that the museum does not benefit from any public subsidy.

The museum is open daily from April 15 to November 1.
